HOSOYA SCHAEFER ARCHITECTS is a Zürich based office for architecture, urban design and research founded in 2003. The office has won several international awards and is working on a wide spectrum of projects throughout Switzerland and Germany such as the Technology Cluster in Zug, the Swiss Innovation Park near Zürich, new urban quarters in the HafenCity or Wilhelmsburg in Hamburg. Architectural projects include the station area of Herisau, the Airport Engadin, various housing projects, a school or four train stations in Toronto.
The office curated the Salon Suisse at the Architecture Biennale 2014 in Venice commissioned by the Swiss Arts Council 'The next 100 Years – Scenarios for an Alpine City State' and won the international concept competition for the Swiss National Exposition in 2027.
Currently, the office is working on "The Industrious City – Rethinking Industry in the Urban Age', a publication with Lars Müller Publishers. A combination of academic work, project practice, and research for clients allow the firm to develop and refine a solid, systemic and innovative understanding of our shared urban future.
