IEVA ILVES is a diplomat and cybersecurity policy expert with more than 20 years of experience in state and international institutions in Latvia, EU, and NATO. She holds a Masters Degree in Political Science from the University of Latvia and Johns Hopkins University in Washington DC. Ieva has worked as the head of the unit for National Cyber Security Policy and Political Advisor to the State Secretary at the Ministry of Defence of Latvia. Ieva was involved in establishing the NATO STRATCOM COE in Riga and in coordinating national cybersecurity policy, including during Latvia’s Presidency in the EU. She is a founding member of different non-governmental organizations institutions focusing on the issues of security, democracy, and human rights. In 2016 she served as First Lady of Estonia. Currently, Ieva serves as an adviser to the President of Latvia for Information and Digital Policy.
